The Keene Hotel

By Catriona & Katherine

Welcome to the Keene Hotel! This hotel was built just over 30 years ago, in 1836. We encourage all of you weary travelers to stop by and experience the comforting and home-like environment that we offer each of our guests.

Will you be staying in one of our rooms? We offer three different styles of rooms: our “Best Room” ($0.75/night) offers a double bed, closet space and a bathing tub, our “Second Best Room” ($0.25/night) offers two small double beds and a shared room, and finally our regular accommodations, “The Flop Room” ($0.10/night), offering straw ticks on the floor (blankets and pillows not included).

We also offer a bar room for conversation and where one can get a nice shave for the men and a sitting parlour with a small powder room for the ladies. These rooms are available to our guests at all times.

A hot dinner will be served promptly at 6 o’clock pm in the dining room. Please ensure that you are washed and presentable. A morning meal will also be served at 6:30 am. No midday meal is available, however, the General Store is right next door for any necessary shopping. We have a room for salesmen and seamstresses to work and sell their goods during the afternoon. There is tea available after Sunday service.
